It took me years to figure out what it is your supposed to do and to filter through a lot of Bullpucky to find a real answer! There is so much shiny object syndrome and I fell victim to it like many of you have and that’s why you are here!
I have always felt that if the money in affiliate marketing is SO GOOD then why are all these affiliate marketers selling me sh*t products that don’t work? Is it me? Am I a sucker? Questions I have no doubt you have asked yourself! The answer is of course NO. The snake oil salesmen in internet marketing and affiliate marketing are ALWAYS gunna be snake oil salesmen!
I am building this blog to introduce myself. I will teach YOU a way to do affiliate marketing that makes sense. It will have some step by step instructions AND helps you start earning money quickly without leaving you broke!
I will be straight up, honest and raw, as I don’t believe flashy sh*t sells sh*t! And to start the honesty, you WILL need to invest some money to get started on the right path. There are tools you are going to need, and they aren’t free. Once I show you what I use, I think you will agree what I invest every month is worth it.
What to expect in online marketing:
You can definitely expect to have a lot of stuff coming to your inbox when you get into online marketing. That is ok of course, so that you can see what other marketers are selling, and see what types of emails compel you to open them.
The number one thing you have to get into your head is that you are GOING TO NEED TO BUILD A LIST! In affiliate marketing, online marketing and internet marketing, (I will define each one shortly), you need to have someone to sell things too. Those people have to be people that have expressed an interest AND given you permission to email them!
Definitions:
Affiliate marketing:
It may seem obvious, but the most simple definition of affiliate marketing is commission sales. If you have ever worked at a best buy, or Nike or Sport Check you will be familiar with commission sales, or if you have ever sold insurance, or cars. These companies all operate on commissions.
So when you first start doing affiliate marketing and people get all uppity about it, just use the term commission sales. So basically you find a product that you KNOW about, are familiar with and preferably ARE USING YOURSELF and you promote it to others. This might be through your social media, (though be careful as FB hates affiliate links), on your blog, to your email list, or by word of mouth depending on what it is. Then when these people you have spoken to use that link to go and buy said product, you get paid a commission. And the commission amount is a percentage of the total price.
In online marketing and affiliate marketing the best places to find products are

- JVZoo
- Clickbank
- Thrivecart
- Amazon
When you go to these sites, you can sign up as an affiliate and look through what products they have and then in some cases request approval to sell, or some you can just start promoting.
Internet Marketing:
Internet marketing is a little more like network marketing in the real world. A lot of stigma around this business model as people refer to it as pyramid schemes. However it is a recognized business model and on the internet it refers more to membership sites that as a sponsor you get paid a percentage of the monthly fee. You get that and in return you are there to answer questions for the people in your downline.
I currently am involved in only one of these sites, because it provides me every tool I need in Internet marketing, email marketing and online marketing. If you have any interest at all you can take a look at it over at GLOBAL NPN . Watch the short video and you can read the things underneath and it talks about the tools that are included. It offers a $1.00 trial to start up. That’s not the focus of this post though.
As you get more members on a site like this it can sometimes become a lot of work, however, that system includes all the tools you need to keep track of everything, including your daily tasks.
email marketing:
I didn’t mention it much above, but THIS is THE be all and end all of making a living online. You don’t need a huge a list, but you need a list for sure and you need to send your list emails every day!
I know that sounds crazy, but it is why you need to have tools to build your lead pages, to collect the leads, and you need an autoresponder that allows you to send premade emails, PLUS allows you to do daily broadcasts.

Online Marketing:
Online marketing is the broad spectrum word that incorporates all forms of making a living online. It is interchangeable with any of the above words. That’s it, the whole definition in a nut shell.
Are You Ready For Online marketing?
It’s a very serious question you have to ask yourself. Lots of people start, but very few continue. Why do you think that is? Are they weak? Are they failures?
NO OF COURSE NOT! Internet marketing and affiliate marketing takes work. It takes consistency. Persistent consistency. That is the true secret. Also it takes understanding that things take time. You aren’t going to grow an audience in 1 day or even 1 month. You have to post consistently on Facebook, or your blog or your emails so that your name gets out there.
You have to send VALUE to people, you have to EDUTAIN people. You have to teach them something, and you have to entertain them. This all takes work and time. I don’t mean you have to lock yourself in a room for a year and have NO life! Of course not! You need time to decompress, to live, and to try new things. ALL of those experiences are where you derive content from!
Personal stories and personal experiences are far more compelling than some copy and pasted email copy that a million affiliates have sent out before…
