Only You Can Tell Your Unique Story

The beauty of your unique story is that only YOU can tell it! What makes you completely different is your lived experiences. No one else can tell your story from your perspective. Our experiences, good, bad and mundane, are what shapes us.

Every situation we go through in our life teaches us lessons, builds our resilience and shapes our view of the world. When we begin to understand that, we are able to build a unique story that will engage those around us.

Your Unique Story Is what makes you YOU

Every story is different. Some are tragic, and some are triumphant. The hardest lesson to learn is that even in tragedy you are able to heal, and like a phoenix you can rise again. A healing journey is hard, can be long and is incredibly difficult.

Once you understand that your experiences shape you, it empowers you to grow towards healing. The best revenge to a tragic past is removing it’s power by healing. As you accept the journey towards full healing you will find your unique story, that you can share and empower others to seek their healing as well.

Is Using Your Unique Story Ethical?

As an email marketer it is often talked about to be ethical in your marketing. Your campaigns have to provide value to your end user. In the email marketers world that is your prospects. You want your prospects to trust you, and the best way to grow trust is to be vulnerable.

When you share your unique story to your list it shows them you are real. This authenticity and trust you show them gives them the piece of mind that it is ok to trust you as well. What is important is that you share your story in a way that relates to what you are promoting. It also has to relate to the reason the prospect joined your list in the first place.

Curiosity Breeds Engagement

As you embark on this method of story telling emails it will engage your readers as they become curious about you. Curiosity about you will have them reading more, clicking on your links, replying to you and this will increase engagement and as a byproduct, sales.

Telling your unique story is an art form that will increase engagement.

Your unique story can only be told by you, and this means that all of your content will be original and untarnished. Because of this it is likely your content will score higher in search engines. This makes it show more on social media and prove you know what you are talking about.

Why Intrigue Keeps Your Readers Coming Back

It is important to leave a little to the imagination, with some tease of some sort. As you close out an email leave a small breadcrumb related to our unique story. However, don’t tell too much! Because you want to build intrigue. This intrigue is what brings your readers back for more.

Because you are using your own stories it makes the building of a story arch relevant and easier. However the story arch needs to follow a pattern of a beginning of the story, the middle, something unusual, and then a conclusion. This conclusion should also focus on a strong call to action.

Putting It All Together

When you start to use story based email marketing it can feel a little heavy at first. Because of this you might want to hesitate sharing too much about yourself. I would encourage you to put that hesitation aside. Due to the fact that very few people share of themselves it puts you in a unique position.

Your unique story can only be told by you, therefore, your readers can ONLY hear your story from you. Sure, people could copy your story, but they will be soon found out, because your story arch keeps it in perspective. Be courageous, put it out there, success will follow!
